Robert Louis Stalbird a resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma passed away on December 6th, 2018 at his home in Okmulgee. Robert was born on July 20, 1936 in Hamden, New York to Elizabeth M. Stalbird. Robert was a Corporal (Cpl) in the United States Marines, serving as a Machine Gunner in the Korean war. During this time Robert was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Robert was a long time Wal-Mart associate in the Garden Center in Okmulgee.
Robert was preceded in death by his Grandparents John and Hattie Stalbird, His mother Elizabeth M. Rode, brothers, Richard Rode, and Jerry Bell, and by one son Robert Louis Stalbird Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Gwendolyn Stalbird of the home,
daughters, Lisa Woodward and husband Frank of Okmulgee,
Ann Pfeiffer and husband Alan of Sapulpa,
Sandy Stevenson and husband Ron of Coweta,
and Christina Keen and husband Johnny of Leon, Kansas,
son, MIchael Haney and wife Jarilyn of Okmulgee,
11 Grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren,
one sister, Lola Bell Scott
and one brother, David Scott,
as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Integrity Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jamie Terry, officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30pm at the Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma with military honors provided by the United States Marines.
