Ronnie Lewis, 67, a longtime resident of Salem Community, Henryetta, went to his
eternal resting place on April 13, 2025. He was born in Los Angeles, California, on July 7, 1957,
to David and Lillie Lewis. Ronnie had a servant's heart and was known by the community as a
giving, friendly and kind person. He would always lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
Ronnie was the oldest of five children. He graduated from Graham High School, near
Weleetka, OK, in 1976. He earned an Associate's Degree in 1987 from Connors State College,
Warner, OK. He also worked in several trades, such as construction and small engine repair.
For the majority of his life, he was the primary caretaker of both his parents until their
passing. It was a difficult job, both physically and mentally, but he never complained. He also
provided care and guidance to his nephews that lived at the home. He considered them as sons
and continued to support them after their high school graduations and subsequent, college
graduations.
Ronnie maintained lifelong friendships with his high school friends, but most notably the
late Phillip Williams. He was an avid sports fan who supported the Oklahoma Sooners and
Oklahoma City Thunder. He enjoyed watching Star Trek and M*A*S*H reruns and was a huge
fan of Bruce Lee movies. Any time he got together with his siblings, you could hear them
reminiscing about their childhood, which always filled the house with laughter. Ronnie was
sentimental in the way that he would keep his nieces' and nephews' old toys, fix them up, and
give them back to them later in life. He also enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood dog.
Ronnie is proceeded in death by his father, David Lewis, Jr., mother, Lillie (Gipson)
Lewis, and sisters, Patricia and Sharon "Bubbles" Lewis. Those who carry on his memory are his
brother, Richard Lewis, sister, Diane Jobe, nieces, Richay Jobe, Gloria Jobe, and Krystle Prather, and nephews, Jeff Lewis, Jordan Lewis, and Johnathan Lewis, as well as a handful of great
nieces and great nephews.
