Ross Elliot Blackwell, passed away peacefully May 3, 2023, in Checotah, Oklahoma. Born May 26, 1965, in Valparaiso, Indiana.
Education was important to Ross, and he received his Bachelor's Degree in Nursing over thirty years ago. This accomplishment allowed him to pursue a fulfilling career in the medical field, where he was able to help countless individuals and their families. Ross's dedication to his work and his community was evident in his service as a fireman with the FAIC in the Checotah area, where he had lived for the last ten years.
Ross had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed many activities and hobbies, including fishing, hunting, and wood crafting. These interests allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with his friends and family. Ross's love for his family was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them, especially his precious grandbabies. His friendly nature and willingness to give out of the kindness of his heart made Ross a best friend to many.
In his passing, Ross leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and friendship. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who carry on his values. Ross's life serves as a reminder of the importance of family, the value of hard work, and the power of a kind heart.
Ross is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Leann (George) Blackwell, and their loving family. Together, they raised four daughters, Tiffany Blackwell of Lyndora, Pennsylvania, and Brittney, Katie, and Shannon Blackwell, all of Butler, Pennsylvania. Ross was a proud grandfather to Leland Blackwell, Rodley Lesley, and Kody Lesley. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Natasha Milam of Henryetta, Oklahoma, and his brother, Brian Blackwell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Ross Elliot Blackwell will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who carry on his values. Rest in peace, Ross, and thank you for the light you brought to this world.
