She graduated Henryetta High 1950, took classes in typing and shorthand at Okmulgee Tech, and attended Wichita University, Wichita, Ks. Roy Ann retired at 80 years of age; finishing many years of work she began in 1950. She worked in Oklahoma City, at Pittsburg Plate Glass in Henryetta, Mary Mahoney Medical Center, Sears and the Henryetta Freelance newspaper. She worked as a payroll clerk, bookkeeper, private & commercial business clerk, office manager, receptionist, administrative assistant and retail clerk to name a few. Along with raising her own 5 children she enjoyed the interaction of their friends (many of whom adopted her as “Momma Cecrle"). Her hobbies included making quilts, crochet, calligraphy, and tending flowers .She loved making cards and sending them to family and friends for special occasions was something she loved to do and was just one of the ways she encouraged her family and friends.

She wrote Christmas & Easter plays that were performed in the church at Henryetta, was editor of the BEACON, Oklahoma-Kansas District’s Youth magazine in 1952, wrote Sunday School lessons for the UPC Sunday School Division and offered her proof-reading and editing skills to ministers and college-aged children alike.
