Ruby June Brakey, 80, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, May 26th, 2022 at her home in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Ruby was born May 22nd, 1942 to Resser and Harley Harlow Ponnequin in Coalton, Oklahoma.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Brakey, three sons, Little Albert Frazier, Tim Frazier and infant son Vance Wayne; great grandson Alex Hart, her parents, Resser and Harley Ponnequin, brothers, Harley D. Ponnequin, Orin Kanada and Ira Ponnequin, and sisters: Lorraine Richardson and Louise Turner.
Ruby was also raised in Coalton where she would meet Albert Newton Frazier whom she married before they moved to Okemah, Oklahoma. They lived there for several years working in the oilfield and raising five children. Later they would separate, Ruby and four of her children moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to be with family. There, she met Ray Brakey, they would become a family, working hard, together they spent 35 years as sheetrockers. Ruby was a hard worker who loved her family and would move back to Oklahoma to be near her children and grandchildren where she lived until her passing. Ruby was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Those left behind to cherish Ruby's memory are her children Allen Frazier and Mark Frazier of the home, Gaylynn and husband Mark Cooper of Pawnee, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hart Bradley Frazier, Charles Cooper, Leslie Cooper and Timothy Frazier and three great granddaughters, Kayleigh, Hayleigh and Zaleigh.
