Ruby Mae Tharp

Ruby Mae Tharp, a resident of Wichita, Kansas and former Tulsa resident, passed from this life on July 14, 2015 in Wichita at the age of 99. Mae was born on April 27th, 1916 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Charles Lambeth and Mary Bullington Lambeth. Mae was married to Dudley Edward Tharp on April 2, 1935 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. They remained happily married for 57 years until Dudley's death in 1992. Just after she and Dudley married, Mae went to work at McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa and she worked there for approximately five years. Mae was a consumate homemaker. She loved to sew, garden, and was well known as accomplished cook. Mae was a longtime member of the Tulsa Garden Club and Brookside Baptist Church of Tulsa. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister by the many who knew and loved her. Mae is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband Dudley, five brothers, two sisters; and a son, Don Edward Tharp. Mae is survived by her two granddaughters, Dona Blue of Wichita, Kansas and Sherri Wolf of Broken Arrow, OK; two grandsons, Ricky Tharp of Tulsa and Richard Tharp of Tulsa; by seven great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Betty Tharp of Tulsa; and by other extended family and many good friends. Viewing for Mae will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta from 1pm until 5pm. A graveside service for Mae will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 2:00pm at Weleetka Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka, Oklahoma with Rev. James Page officiating. Interment will follow immediately under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
