Russell Keith Johnson

Russell "Russ" Keith Johnson, 70, a resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Russ was born July 17th, 1954 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Bessie Belle (Wallace) and Lax Miko Johnson.

Russell is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tsianina Johnson, son, Dace Miko Tiger, grandsons, Brendon Poyndexter, Bradley Poyndexter, brother Charles Howe, and sister, Nova Bruce.

Russell was born in Ardmore and moved to Okmulgee with his family at the age of eleven. His first job was at the Post Office in Tulsa before enlisting in the Army in 1978. After his service, Russell's life involved family and friends. His entire life he played in a Rythym and Blues bands called the "Medicine Pony" and "Butch Powell and the Firecreek Band" where he played bass. He also enjoyed watching old movies, spending time with his family, especially time with his grandchildren. Russell was a great jokester and found joy in making others laugh.

Russell leaves to cherish is memory, daughter, Janet Johnson, son, Jesse Johnson, Philip Johnson, Brian Johnson, 19 grandbabies and 7 great-grandbabies. He also leaves behind his beloved sisters, Pam Sue Johnson, PaTrisha, and Sesma.

Viewing and Visitation is scheduled for 3:00PM to 8:00PM, Wednesday, March 26th, 2025 at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 E. Trudgeon St., Henryetta, OK 74437

Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00PM, Friday, March 28th, 2025 at Integrity Chapel, 410 E. Trudgeon St. Henryetta, OK 74437
