Ruth Z. Anderson

Ruth Z. Anderson, a beloved resident of Schulter, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024, in Henryetta, OK, at the age of 88. Born on September 7, 1935, in Henryetta, OK, Ruth was the cherished daughter of Grady Henry Lay and Minnie A. (Sorrels) Lay.

Ruth had a passion for crocheting and reading, finding joy in these simple pleasures. She was deeply devoted to her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. In earlier years, she loved camping adventures with her late husband, Oscar Eugene "Gene" Anderson, creating lasting memories together.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Anderson; her parents, Grady Henry and Minnie A. Lay; and her siblings, Charles Lay, Grady Melvin Lay, and Wynonna Casey.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Lonnie Frenchman and Fanessa Barrett of Pierce, OK; Sue Tourret and her husband Danny of Schulter, OK; and stepsons, Tom Anderson of MT and Raymond Anderson of WA. Her grandchildren, Lonnie Dean Frenchman of Houston, TX; Deana Burns and JD Smallwood of Muskogee, OK; Bryan Frenchman of Norman, OK and Danna Keller and her husband Matt of Bixby, OK, along with her bonus grandchildren, Jeremiah Barrett and his wife Tristina of Pierce, OK, and Chelsi Link and her husband Johnny of Checotah, OK, will forever remember her warmth and kindness. Ruth is also survived by her many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Bill Lay and Pat Henley, both of Henryetta, OK, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Integrity Funeral Service. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Integrity Chapel, officiated by Rev. Robert Lay. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta.
