Ruth Lenore Brown was born December 15th 1924 to Alva Henry McClellan and Ruth "Dohrer" (Door) McClellan in Wetumka, Oklahoma.
She attended school at District 32, Weleetka Public School, and graduated at Valedictorian from Dustin Public School in 1943.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxilary, and Wives of World War II Submarine Veterans.
She and Abb Brown were married in 1947 and had a son, Bradley, and a daughter Jeanin.
They opened Brown's Auto and Tractor Garage in 1947. She assisted in operation of garage, farming, and ranching. She was a clerk at Dustin Post office for 25 years, Dustin town clerk, and a news correspondent for Holdenville Daily News.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Chris, and her husband Abb.
She loved the outdoors and was avid vegetable and flower gardener.
Following his retirement as rural mail carrier, she was Abb's constant fishing companion.
Her son, Bradley married Cynthia, who had 2 sons,
Daniel and Jeremy.
Her daughter Jeanine Married James Harjo, who had 2 daughters, Jessica and Vanessa.
Jeremy and Jasmine had 3 daughters, Samantha, Natalie, and Isabella.
Jessica and Chris had 2 sons, Keaton and hunter. Vanessa and Nathan had 1 son, James. Ruth had two grandsons, two granddaughters, three great granddaughters, and three great grandsons, all of which she loved very much.
Ruth passed on October 1st. She was 91, lived a good life with her husband, and enjoyed all the children. In her last days, she was ready to see Jesus.
She left her final message to all her family, "I've lived a good long life. Do not be saddened and worry for me; all is well, now. All is well"
Viewing will be from 2-8pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 2:00pm at Integrity Chapel (410 E. Trudgeon St.) in Henryetta. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Dustin, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
