Sam Harold Scully a resident of Coalton passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 84. Sam was born on August 26, 1931 to Thomas and Bertha (Sloan) Scully in Coalton, Oklahoma. Sam married his only sweet heart, Juanita Jane Corbin On August 31, 1954, at the First Baptist Church in Checotah, Oklahoma. Sam was a United States Veteran proudly serving with the United States Army and was a Member of the Tulledega Masonic Lodge.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Bertha, two brothers Jim and John Scully, his daughter Rebecca Scully Collett, a Grandson Donny Collett and a niece, Etta Vanerwegen.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years

Sam was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Dewar, Oklahoma.
Sam was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing or simply sitting on his porch with Juanita watching the wildlife surrounding his home.
Sam worked for the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad from the age of sixteen after convincing the boss he was twenty-one years of age. Sam retired as a conductor in 1990. His only frustration with the railroad service was when they began phasing out the caboose from the freight trains, it took away his favorite place to ride.
Viewing for Sam will begin on Monday from 5-8pm and again on Tuesday from 8am until Noon.
Pallbearers will be Agents of The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Scully, Tim Scully, Tom Scully, Randy Vanerwegen, Adam Collett, Shawn Collett, Sam Deere, Bennie Gooden & Richard Carter.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow in Okmulgee Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
