Shawn Robert Minyard

Shawn Robert Minyard, a longtime Wilson community area resident, passed from this life on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home in Okmulgee at the age of 44. Shawn was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 3, 1972 to Robert O MInyard and Joy Lynn Peavler Minyard.

Shawn grew up in the Henryetta area and graduated from Wilson High School with the class of 1991. He loved to hunt and he was an accomplished fisherman. Of his life's many joys, time spent with his two incredible sons was Shawn's most important of accomplishments. Shawn worked for 22 years as an automotive supervisor at WalMart. In 2015, Shawn went to work for Great Plains Coca Cola as a blend technician. Shawn was a loving son, an incredible and giving father and husband, and he will be missed by the hundreds of lives by which he has touched.

Shawn is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester Minyard; grandmother, Alberta Minyard, grandparents, Earl and Lois Peavler; his father, Robert O. Minyard; and his uncle, Skip Minyard; aunt, Lana Sue Robison; great grandmother, Emma A Ford.

He is survived by his mother Jody Winn of Okmulgee; a former wife and friend, Samantha Wyrick of Henryetta; two very specials sons, Wade Austin Minyard and Alex Ryan Minyard, both of the home in the Wilson Community; several aunts and uncles including Everett and Betty Allen of Henryetta, Denny and Ladonna Dodge of Henryetta, Dusty and Deanna Peavler of Henryetta; by several nieces and nephews, other extended family, and hundreds of good friends.

Viewing for Shawn will be held at Integrity Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from noon until 8:00pm.

A funeral service for Shawn will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 2:00pm at The First Baptist Church of Dewar with Rev. Ryan Wells & Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
