Sidney Marvin Umsted, Jr.

Sidney "Marvin" Umsted Jr., a resident of Henryetta, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 in Henryetta, OK at the age of 91. He was born August 1, 1923 in Duncan, OK to Sidney Marvin Umsted Sr. & Suda Mae (Maddox) Umsted. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Laurena Umsted, and 2 children, Carolyn Sue Umsted and Ronnie Umsted, sister, Flora Atkins, and brother, Floyd Umsted. Marvin is survived by his five children: Margaret Thompson & husband Sonny of Dewar; James Umsted & wife Stephanie of Wheeler, Texas; Billy Umsted & wife Shelia of Mobeetie, Texas; Debbie Hendrix of Erick, Oklahoma; Gene Umsted & wife Sherry of Delhi, Oklahoma; Sixteen Grandchildren; Thirty one Great Grandchildren; Four Great-Great Grandchildren; one brother, Lee Umsted & wife Doris of Dixon, Tennessee; one sister, Charlene Woody of Duncan, Oklahoma; special niece, Rita Harms & husband Allen of Duncan, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Integrity Funeral Service. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00am, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Silver Spring Baptist Church with Rev. A.J. Tiger, officiating. Interment will follow at 4pm that same day at Erick Cemetery in Erick, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
