Stephen Dwayne Whitlock, age 71, of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away on May 19, 2024, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Born on May 22, 1952, in Henryetta, to Arthur D. Whitlock & Nancy Jo (McKay) Whitlock, Stephen was a man whose life was characterized by dedication to his country, love for his family, and a passion for the great outdoors.
He married the love of his life, Imogene Jones, on April 4, 1980, in Sherman, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful family, including children Travis Tipton and wife Chris, Mandy Vance and husband Billy Jack, Kayla Whitlock, Kalli Whitlock, Nathan Whitlock, and Jamie Estrada. He was a proud patriarch to fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Stephen was the brother of Stanley Whitlock and wife Mary, as well as John Keim and wife Tracy. He was surrounded by a tight-knit circle of friends and relatives who will deeply miss his presence.
A proud alumnus of Henryetta High School, he worked as an Oklahoma State Park Ranger, where he dedicated twenty years before retiring. Thereafter, he continued to protect and serve as a Federal Security Officer for thirteen years.
Stephen was a very proud and patriotic veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with distinction in the United States Army. He loved hunting for arrowheads, as well as hunting and fishing - activities that brought him immense joy and peace.
He is preceded in death by his cherished parents, Arthur D. Whitlock and Nancy Jo (McKay) Whitlock, and his wife, Imogene Jones Whitlock.
Viewing for Steve will be from 5-8pm Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, and Wednesday May 22nd, 2024 am until 1:00 p at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be, A.J. Welch, Nathan Whitlock, Jess Hale, Christian Estrada, Travis Tipton, Billy Jack Vance, & John Keim.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at Integrity Chapel with Wesley VanMeter officiating. Interment will follow with honors in Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
