Stewart Max "Fox" Stanley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this world to embark on his final adventure on December 18, 2023, at the age of 69. Born on May 24, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, Fox was a man whose zest for life and mechanical prowess left a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
Fox spent his formative years in Columbus, where he developed a passion for all things mechanical. This passion guided him to pursue his studies and laid the foundation for his future career. After completing his education, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a mechanic, a vocation that he not only excelled in but also deeply loved.
In the heart of Dewar, Oklahoma, Fox built a life filled with love and laughter alongside his beloved wife, Connie DeVore. Together, they created a home that was a beacon of warmth and hospitality. Their family grew to include a daughter, Brandy Treagesser and her husband Ryan of Okmulgee, and a son, Brian DeVore and his wife Gina of Collinsville. Fox's legacy continued to flourish through his grandsons, Kyle Treagesser and fiancée Meagan, Riley Treagesser, Jordyn Miller, Drake, and Griffen DeVore, niece, Tracy Schroeder of Kansas City Kansas and he eagerly anticipated the arrival of his great-granddaughter, Mia Treagesser.
Fox's sister-in-law, Jean Sopp of Kansas City, Kansas, and his close friend, Mike DePetrillo of Tulsa, Steve Briggs of Hot Springs, AR also survive him. Both were integral parts of his life, sharing in his adventures and contributing to the tapestry of memories that his family and friends will hold dear. His life was enriched by a host of friends and other relatives who found in Fox a man of great character and conviviality.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Milo Stanley, in 1991, his mother, Beverly Ann (Burch) Stanley, his brother, Carl Sopp, and his sister, Shyla Ann Stanley. Their memory remained a guiding light throughout his life, inspiring him to live each day with purpose and joy.
Fox was a man of many talents, best described as handy, adventurous, and friendly. His hands, always ready to fix what was broken, were matched only by his heart, always open to those around him. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the world around him, often taking the road less traveled, much to the delight of his family and companions.

Whether he was sharing a story or lending a helping hand, Fox's presence was a source of comfort and joy. His involvement in various associations reflected his commitment to service and his desire to make a positive impact.
Stewart Max "Fox" Stanley lived a life that was as rich and vibrant as the Oklahoma sunsets he so admired. His faith was rooted in God as he was a member of Dewar Baptist Church.
