Susan Joan Dombek, 68, passed away on February 23, 2014. Susan was born in Henryetta, OK on December 28, 1945. She attended St. Michael's Catholic School and Henryetta High School. Susan married the Love of Her Life, Stanley J. Dombek, Jr., M.D., also of Henryetta, OK. They were married for 53 years until her death. Throughout the years, Susan's vivacious and electrifying personality was at the forefront of many of her endeavors. She was active in multiple Hospitals' Auxiliary Clubs, Doctor's Wives' committees, Air Force Officer's Wives' functions, The American Heart Association and a diversity of charities. Susan enjoyed teaching CCD classes at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Oklahoma City for several years. As a volunteer for Briarwood Elementary School's special education program in Prairie Village, KS, Susan loved working with "her kids". It was extremely rewarding for her to help children. She enjoyed many hobbies included outdoor camping, fishing, bowling, tennis and biking. Susan was a Boomer Sooner, loving OU football and basketball. She also was a Thunder fan. Susan loved the water and spending time at her lake home at Lake of the Ozarks. She was an excellent swimmer, water skier and 1st mate of the boat. She was always an avid boating enthusiast. Susan had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Cooking was her passion. She delighted in cooking German cuisine due to her heritage. Susan never met a stranger. Her generosity of the heart was immense. She touched and changed many people's lives forever. Susan's love of life, compassion, style and grace, positive energy and beauty will live on in our hearts. Susan was a loving, devoted daughter, and daughter-in-law, who cared for her elderly, ailing parents and in-laws in her home until their demise. Her husband, 3 children, 1 granddaughter and 1 son-in-law meant the world to her. Susan is survived by her husband, Stanley J. Dombek, Jr., M.D.; daughter, Dayna Garrett and husband Bob Garrett of Overland Park, KS; son, David; daughter, Stephanie and her daughter Danielle, Susan's only grandchild and apple of her eye. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Dan Laturno, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be, David Dombek, Bob Garrett, Sammy Kelch, Willie Kelch, & Albert Kelch.
