Tawanda Jean "Toni" Tabers, a woman whose loving and generous nature was the very embodiment of compassion and adventure. Born on July 25, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Mildred Jean and George Allen Tabers.
Toni is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ricky Tabers and granddaughter Star Sedillo.
Toni's earthly chapter came to a peaceful close on January 30, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She transitioned into eternity the same way she lived - naturally and gracefully, surrounded by the love of her family, and with the same quiet dignity that defined her days.
She leaves behind a legacy etched in the hearts of her beloved husband, Troy Stevens; her children, Marvin Allen Tate, Scott LeRoy Tate with Katy Wiedel, James Ray Wright with Mesiah Soap, Anthony Nathanial Tabers with Audra Robertson, of Ada, Oklahoma, Amanda Michel Stevens, of Visallia, California, Clay Douglas Stevens, of Tulare, California, and Cody Alan Stevens of Tulare, California Toni's memory will be cherished by her thirteen grandchildren - Raily, Kannon, Nora, Quayde, Quest, Cayden, Lainey, Elizabeth, Miley, Kayden, Wyatt, Caiyden, and Cora - each a sparkling star in the vast galaxy of her love. She also leaves behind her treasured siblings: sisters Evalin, Cathy, Paula, Sue, Ann, and brothers Lonnie and Tim. Toni's presence as a matriarch, sister, and friend was a gift to all who knew her.
Toni's professional journey as a caregiver in the health field was a testament to her deep-rooted passion for helping those in need. With a gentle touch and a reassuring smile, she brought solace and comfort to countless individuals. Her unwavering commitment was further exemplified by her esteemed achievement of graduating from high school and receiving her CNA license, a milestone that underscored her dedication to lifelong learning and self-improvement.
