Terry Ray Mordecai, a resident of Henryetta, passed away January 13, 2016 in Henryetta, OK at the age of 69. He was born Wednesday, November 20, 1946 in Henryetta, OK to Albert M. Mordecai & Geraldine (Wade) Mordecai. Terry was a graduate of Dewar High School Class of 1965. He married Gloria Jean Amerson-Garrett March 27, 2005 in Estes Park, Colorado. He was a member of Dewar First Baptist Church, served on the board for McIntosh County Rural Water, was an avid Hamm radio operator and had served as an auxilary deputy for the Okmulgee County Sherriff's office. He also served in the Army National Guard and was on the Governor's Rifle Team for 13 years. Terry retired from McDonnell-Douglas as an aircraft assembly specialist after many years. Retirement was never an option for Terry because he loved to work and repair things and help people. Among the help he gave was his passion for New Sonora Cemetery. Terry began volunteering helping to maintain and clean New Sonora Cemetery and then began covering graves and maintaining all aspects of the cemetery. His selfless acts to help his friends, family and those in need are to many to mention. He affected so many life's and will be missed by all who knew him or came in contact with him. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert M. Mordecai and two grandsons, Weston Mordecai and Bobby Gene Stidman, Jr. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie of the home in rural Henryetta; His children: Terry R. Mordecai, Jr. & wife Donna of Miami, Oklahoma; T. J. Mordecai & wife Courtney of Henryetta; Tia Christian & husband Thomas of Bixby; Deana Gilroy & husband Mike of Henryetta; Bobby Gene Stidman & wife Heather of Schulter; Sixteen grandchildren and one great grandson His mother, Geraldine Mordecai of Dewar; Brother, Ronnie Mordecai & wife Debra of Edmond; Sister, Sharon Sawyer & husband Bernel of Longmont, Colorado; As well as a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Tommy Smallwood, Lane Lawson, Jeffrey Kinsey, Thomas Christian, Kent Hughes, & Jeff Hughes. Viewing will be on Friday, January 15, 2015 from noon until 8:00 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the United Pentecostal Church in Dewar with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
