Terry Lee Tiger

June 16, 1969 — July 26, 2023

Terry Lee Tiger, known lovingly as Terry, or Double "T" was born on the 16th of June,1969, in Claremore, Oklahoma, and peacefully passed away in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, on the 26th of July, 2023. Terry was a devoted son, nephew, uncle, and an ardent sports fan.

He was preceded in death by his Tiger and O'Neal grandparents, mother Caroline, sister Kellie Ann, uncles Kenneth and Dean Tiger. Surviving family include his father Matthew, sister Zoelynn and husband Teodoro, all of Okmulgee and uncle George and Frances Tiger of Bristow. Plus, his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Terry was a proud graduate of Okmulgee High School, after which he furthered his education at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas. His passion for service led him to a fulfilling a dream and career as a firefighter with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. His bravery and dedication to his work were inspirational, making him a role model in his community.

Terry was a man of deep faith, regularly attending church and finding solace in traditional Creek church hymns. His spiritual life was not just a routine, but a source of strength that guided him through life's ups and downs. His faith was infectious, touching the lives of those around him add inspiring them to seek their spiritual paths.

Beyond his work and faith, Terry's life was rich with interests that brought him joy. He had a soft spot for his nieces and nephews, supporting them wholeheartedly and attending many of their functions and activities. His presence at these events was a testament to his unwavering love and support for his family.

Terry was an avid video gamer, often finding relaxation and excitement in the virtual world of games. His love for sports, particularly for the Oklahoma Sooners football team, was unrivaled. He was a loyal fan, at times attending games or watching on ESPN, always ready with the latest updates on player recruitment and positions. His father was often the first to hear when a player committed and signed with the Sooners, a testament to Terry's dedication to his beloved team.

Terry lived feeling the beauty of life in his faith, his love for his family, his passion for his work, and his dedication to his favorite sports team.

Terry Tiger was a beacon of strength, faith, and love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, in the hymns he sang, in the family he cherished, and in the team he supported. His life was a testament to the power of faith, the strength of family, and the joy of following one's passion. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023 and from 8:00 AM till 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Integrity Funeral Service.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Yardeka Indian Baptist Church south of Henryetta with Reverend Fred Lowe officiating. Burial will follow the service at Yardeka Indian Baptist Church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chebon Tiger, Chris Tiger, Topley Powell, Jess Waterdown, Jr., Tyler Crenshaw, Virgil "Bubba" Sanders and Teodoro Olea.
