Theresa Elizabeth Akins

Theresa Elizabeth Akins, a resident of Coalton, Oklahoma was born September 6, 1925 in Coalton, Oklahoma to Charlie and Francesca (Aimone) Macaluso. She passed away Monday, January 5th 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 89. She married Glendon Leo Akins, Sr. on June 13, 1942 in Okmulgee. Theresa worked at Safeway in Henryetta for many years and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Glendon Akins Sr., as well as her eldest son Carl Gene Akins. She is survived by two sons: Glen Akins, Jr. & wife Donna of Jacksonville, Florida; Bill Akins & wife Robin of Glenpool; As well as her six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchilden. Also by a host of friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be: Cliff Smith, Glen Akins III, Carl Akins III, Ryan Baack, Greg Bowers, & Sammy Kelch. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mick Rangel, Ernest Garcia, Don Parrish, Alfonso Magna, Richard Gazalski & Lewis Hill. Viewing will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Joshua Litwick, officiating. Entombment will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
