Trix Leann Gooden

Trix LeAnn McCloskey, a lifetime resident of the Dewar community passed away on February 8, 2024. Born on March 27, 1953, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, Trix's journey was one marked by achievement, love, and an unwavering spirit. Her departure from this world occurred in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but her legacy is etched into the hearts of those she touched.

A proud graduate of Dewar High School's class of 1972, Trix's name became synonymous with basketball excellence. Her natural talent and hard work led her team to the state championships, and her prowess on the court earned her a place on the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-Decade team for the 1970s. As one of the state's most illustrious scorers, Trix's achievements included the prestigious honor of being named Oklahoma All-State in 1972-73. Her passion for the game propelled her to play for Oral Roberts University, Connors State College, and even the University of Oklahoma basketball team in 1980-1981. Her dedication to the sport continued as she pledged to the Oklahoma Reds, leading her team to numerous national titles.

Trix's zest for life was not confined to the basketball court. She channeled her dynamism into a career in real estate, completing school and later opening her own business, Trix McCloskey Real Estate of Henryetta, where she served her community as a realtor and broker. Moreover, Trix's multifaceted career also saw her as a pipeline radiographer, where she was a certified professional and a valued member of the I.U.O.E. Local 112 Union.

She was a member of Dewar First Baptist Church.

She leaves behind six children: Aaron Lowe and his wife Amanda of Stillwater; Charles "Buster" Lowe of Henryetta; Chase McCloskey of Tulsa; Tanner McCloskey of Henryetta; Misti McCloskey of Henryetta; and Erica Tese Page and her husband Matt of Henryetta and eleven grandchildren, Trix's brother, Dennis Gooden of Dewar, along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives, will continue to feel the warmth of her love and the impact of her extraordinary life.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Ruby Gooden, Trix now rests peacefully, leaving a legacy of love, perseverance, and the indomitable spirit that defined her life. Her story is not one of sorrow but of celebration-a life lived fully and passionately, leaving a lasting imprint on the world.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, 26, 2024 at Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
