Veria Louise Brown, an adored wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was called to be with her Lord and Savior on June 26, 2024, at 10 A.M. Veria was born on September 12, 1929, to Harrison and Jessie White of Pharoah, Oklahoma. She had four siblings Lysan White, Mildred Henley, Barbara Shahan and Sylvia Peter who preceded her in passing.
Veria attended Pharoah Schools and graduated on May 22, 1947. She loved sports and excelled in basketball during her years at Pharaoh High School. After High School, she met the love of her life, Ira F. Brown. They were married on June 1, 1950. The were married for 54 years. Ira died on June 28, 2004.
Veria had three children: Dianne (Brad) Warkentine, Paula (Jim) Henry, and Ira (Paula) Brown. Veria had a great love for her seven grandchildren: Brett (Serenity) Warkentine, Chad (Christy) Warkentine, Yolanda Creswell, Jamie (Ryan) Cornelius, Jessica (Chuck) Howell, Danielle (Aaron) Freiberg and Jennifer (Pete) Horn. She had nineteen Great Grandchildren: Noah Warkentine, Elijah Warkentine, Annika Warkentine, Ira Warkentine, Jonah Warkentine, Simon Cornelius, Vera Cornelius, Tatum Creswell, Riley Howell, Jackson Howell, Baron Howell, Jack Freiberg, Samantha Friberg, Benjamin Friberg, Caden Smith, Avery Smith, Ashden Horn, Michael Horn, and Robert Horn.
In her early years of marriage, she played on a softball team in New Mexico. Later in life Veria's hobbies were crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She loved her church and used her gifts in the church to teach small children about the Lord in Sunday School and VBS. She was missionary president at Henryetta Nazarene Church and involved the women in making quilts for some of the missionaries. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the church choir. At 94 years old she was still singing. The home she stayed at in Prescott would hear her singing Christian songs, and her voice was still beautiful. She is singing all those songs in Heaven now and rejoicing with her loved ones.
The day before she died, a song about Heaven was playing on her TV; Mom told one of the caregivers, "My husband is in Heaven." We as a family rejoice that now our Mother is in Heaven with our Dad.
