Edith Verlene Orum, resident of Henryetta passed away from this life on Saturday 2-20-2021. She was born on December 14, 1926 to Richard D. and Minnie E. (Walker) Akins in Quinton, Oklahoma. Verlene was married to Raymond G. Orum on October 3, 1944 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Verlene was a housewife for many years. She was a licensed E.M.T and worked at Haskel County Hospital for 20 years. She moved to Henryetta where she worked at Bushmans Shoes until they closed.
She was a devout Christian who attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church most of her life.
Verlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers, Glen, Bill, Bob, and Don, as well as her sister-in-law Theresa Akins.
She is survived by two brothers, Jerry and Kay Akins of Cushing Oklahoma, Jimmy and Debbie Akins of Jenks Oklahoma, Alysha Spangler, who was like a daughter to her, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Viewing for Verlene will be from 3-8pm Wednesday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 25th, 2021 at Integrity Chapel. Interment will be in Silome Springs Cemetery near Stigler under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
