Vernon D. Carter was called to his heavenly home on November 30, 2013. He lost his life to cancer. He was born September 21st, 1955 To Vernon & Joan Carter. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Carter of the home; His father, Vernon Carter of Dewar; Five sons, Vernon W. Carter, Brandon W. Hill, Bradley J. Turtle, Matthew D. Carter, & Chad D. Carter; One granddaughter, Kiah Hill; Three grandsons, Isaac A. Carter, Keetyn D. Carter, & Kason M. Carter; Two brothers, Bobby Carter & wife Cindy; Rick Carter & wife Judy; He is preceded in death by his mother, Joan Carter, a sister, Theresa Carter, and a grandson, Kade Hill. He has a host of special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Vernon, Papa to his grandkids, moved his family from Beggs to a farm outside of Weleetka. He enjoyed the farm and animals. He loved fishing Deep Fork and the North Canadian Rivers when he was home and the rivers were up. Known as Catfish Carter for all the huge catfish he caught. Vernon worked as a pipefitter for Victory Energy until May 2013. He travelled all over the country with them working different jobs. He was very close to his V.E. family. Ron Eaddie, Rusty Swain, Donny Martin, Mike Brown, John Goullet, & Bobby Turner. God bless them all for their love and support. Papa loved his family and friends. He was strong, hard working, proud man. A super husband, father, family member and friend. He was our Superman. He is missed very much by all.
