Walter Sammie Berryhill, a resident of Oklahoma City and former Henryetta area resident, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Oklahoma City at the age of 85. Walter was born on January 6, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to John Berryhill and Amy Randall Berryhill. Walter grew up around Henryetta and attended Henryetta Public Schools. As a teenager, Walter joined the U.S. Army and faithfully served from 1947 until 1953. Walter held a number of jobs but was a successful businessman with most all of them, including his considerable experience with real estate. He was a member of the South Lindsey Baptist Church in Oklahoma City for approximately 25 years. Walter maintained an extremely active lifestyle. He enjoyed playing golf, served as the assistant baseball coach at Barnes Elementary School in Midwest City, and he exercised daily. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his two brothers, Richard Berryhill and Almer Berryhill; four sisters, Amy Sue Berryhill, Mary Coon, Christine Harjo, and Lucille Bear. Walter is survived by his sister, Dicey Barnett of Henryetta; a special friend, Rowena Williford of Oklahoma City; by a host of nieces and nephews, a strong church family, by many other extended family and many good friends. Viewing for Walter will be held at Integrity Funeral Service on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 5-8pm and Tuesday from 8am until 4pm at Integrity Funeral Service. A wake service will be held on Tuesday at Integrity Chapel from 6pm to 8pm with Rev. Tim Lowe and Rev. Wallace Gambler officiating. Funeral Services for Walter will be held at Integrity Chapel on Wednesday, June 24, 2014 at 1:00pm with Rev. Jerry Connell and Rev. Wallace Gambler officiating. Interment will follow at Berryhill Family Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Pahos B. Harjo, MIcah Little, Brian Barnett, Darren Delaune, Michael Tsadi, Jerome Yazzie, and Patrick Vowell. Honorary bearers will be Bruce Barnett, Daniel Barnett, Johnathan Berryhill, Larry Berryhill, Lonnie Ramirez, Ray Harjo, Adam Harjo, Sr., Luther Ray Buckner and Arthur Coon, Jr.
