Wilda Neoma Gulley

September 13, 1937 — January 7, 2019

Wilda Neoma Gulley, a resident of rural Okmulgee was called home to her reward on January 7th, 2019 at her home at the age of 81. She was born September 13th, 1937 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Ike Madison Kellogg and Goldie McKenneth (Newton) Kellogg.

She married the love of her life, George Raymond Gulley, Sr., October 18th, 1954 in Stigler, Oklahoma. They celebrated 64 years of marriage with a lifetime of happiness. To this union two children were born, George Raymond Jr. & Neoma Sue.

Wilda, or Midget as she was often called, worked as a nurses aide at the Henryetta Hospital for Dr. Carlton Smith. Along with Dr. Smith's encouragement, she decided to get her GED and go to nursing school for her LPN degree. Along with her sister Lucille they set out to get their nursing degrees and Wilda graduated with a 4.0 grade average all the while working as a Nurses Aide at Henryetta Hospital and raising a family. She graduated in May of 1974 with the very first LPN Nursing Class at Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee. After the closing of Dr. Smith's Henryetta Hospital, Wilda began nursing at the new Henryetta Medical Center. In addition to Dr. Smith, she worked very closely with Dr. Brent Davis during her nursing career. From there she worked for several years at Country Style Home Health. She devoted 50 years of nursing to her patients, family & friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Goldie Kellogg, four sisters, Mildred Smith, Lucille VanMeter, Helen Griffith & Charlotte Greenwood. Also by three brothers, Isaac Kellogg, Truman Kellogg & Seth Kellogg.

She is survived by her husband George Raymond Gulley, Sr. of the home;
One son, George Raymond Gulley, Jr. & wife Melody of Henryetta;
Neoma Sue Raby & husband Don of Okmulgee;
Four grandchildren, Sarah Madewell & husband Trent,
George Raymond Gulley, III,
Sue Ann Vaughan & husband Terron,
Jeremy Ross Raby & Jessica Howe.
Six great grandchildren, Madison Madewell, Dillon Madewell, Hannah Madewell,
Hallie Madewell, Ella Grace Vaughan, & Gunner Ross Vaughan.
Also by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Viewing for Wilda will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with family present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be, Don Raby, Jeremy Raby, Terron Vaughan, Ray Gulley, Trent Madwell, & Travis Griffith. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Smith, Dr. Brent Davis, George Gulley, Jr. Robert Greenwood, Audie Cole, Brad Foster & Tammy Blake.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 10th at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Michael Vanmeter officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
