Willard "Will" Glen Fisher, a longtime resident of the Henryetta area, passed from this life on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at his home in Schulter at the age of 70. Will was born April 30, 1946 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Margaret Christenberry Fisher. Will grew up in the Terre Haute area and attended school there.
Will joined the U.S. Army in 1963 and served for several years, including a tour of duty in Germany, until his honorable discharge in 1966. Will married the love of his life, Linda Archer, on January 27, 1967 in Terre Haute, Indiana. They remained happily married for 49 years until his death. Will worked as a mould maker for a glass plant in Terre Haute for several years before transferring to Henryetta's glass plant in 1984. He retired from the glass business in 2000 with 35 years of continuous combined experience.
Will was a longtime member of the American Legion. He was also affiliated as a member of the USW145 Union for many years. Will was an excellent fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his wife Linda. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping with friends and family. Will had significant experience in building race cars and completed several race car projects for his family. Most of all, Will was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather and his family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Will is survived by his wife, Linda Fisher of the home; 2 sons, Jack Fisher and wife Cheryl of Weleetka and Bud Fisher and wife Marcy of Morris, OK; a daughter, Kathy Brooks and Steve Carroll of Schulter; grandchildren Heather Morgan and husband Zac of Tulsa, April Fisher of Morris, Kayla Fisher of Morris, Tyler Fisher of Nuyaka, Stephanie Brooks of Wilson, Steven Brooks and wife Nicole of Hitchita, Chad Owen and Rebecca Owen both of Weleetka, and Ashly Fisher and Jackson Fisher of Weleetka; great grandchildren Carson Clay, Tori Fisher, Kayden Culley, Payton Brooks, and several other step-great grandchildren; a sister, Freda Fisher of Terre Haute, Indiana; a brother, Webb Fisher and wife Viola of Terre Haute, Indiana; by several nieces and nephews, other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing for Will will be held at Integrity Funeral Service on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. Family will be present to greet guests at the funeral home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, November 7, 2016.
A funeral service for Will is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 2:00pm at Integrity Chapel, 410 E. Trudgeon, Henryetta, OK 74437 with David Peterson officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
Honorary Casket bearers will be Jack Archer, Gary Archer, Lucky Archer, Trey Archer, Dean Green, and Curly Rhine.
