William Lee "Bill" Brown, a resident of the Dewar-Bartlett area passed away Saturday, June 30th, 2018 in Henryetta at the age of 84. He was born July 27, 1933 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to William Thomas Brown and Sally Elizabeth (Holliman) Brown.
Bill was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the United States Air Force. He married Evelyn Brown March 12, 1953 in Heber Springs, Arkansas and to this union three children were born, Vicky, Billy, & Rusty. He was a member of Dewar First Baptist Church for many years. he worked at Eagle Picher Smelter, Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola, and also ran the Texaco station at Midway junction for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyn on June 2, 2018, his siblings, Louis Mattison Brown, Benjamin Brown, Mary etta Brown, Clara Brown, John Brown, & Ruth Brown Tarkington.
He is survived by three children:
Vicky Tiger & husband Tony of Tiger Mountain;
Billy Brown of Eufaula;
Rusty Brown & wife Shari of Dewar;
Eleven grandchildren, William Brown, Zachary Tiger & wife Katurah, Dr. Kyle Brown & wife Meghan, Dr. Sara Mulliniks & husband Dusty, Michael Brown, Brittony Tiger, Ashley Howard, James Tyler Howard & wife Mikaelah, Willie Brown, Tiffany Tiger, & Kimberly Howard;
Eleven great grandchildren;
Also by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be, Ricky D. Tarkington, Jr., Jeff Tarkington, Daniel Tarkington, Jordan Tarkington, Zachary Tiger, & Dr. Kyle Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Brown, Willie Brown, James Tyler Howard, WIlliam Brown, Kyle Tarkington, Anthony Tarkington, Luke Tarkington, Noah Tarkington, Matthew Pye, Brandon Pye, & Jacob Pye.
Viewing for Bill will be on Tuesday from 3-8pm with family present to greet friends from 6-8pm.
At the family's request, there will be no viewing on Wednesday, July 4th.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2018 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Wells & Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Lackey Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
