Wilma G. Hopkins 1913-2012 Wilma G. Hopkins, a long-time resident of Henryetta, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Midwest City at the age of 99. Wilma was born on January 30, 1913 in Quentin, Oklahoma to Willie Manley Nation and Maud Turner Nation. Wilma grew up in the Quentin area and attended Quentin Public Schools. She married the love of her life, Virgil F. Hopkins on December 25, 1928 and remained married for 28 years until his death in 1956. Wilma worked for several Henryetta dental practices where she was employed as a dental assistant. After over 40 years in the dental profession she retired. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Henryetta; the quilting club of Wilson and the quilting club of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Henryetta; was a member of the Methodist Church; and served as a long-time volunteer with the Red Cross. Wilma is preceded in death by her husband Virgil who died June 30, 1956; by her mother and father; by her sister Beulah Hopkins; and by her sister, Evelyn Crumrine. She is survived by a daughter, Billie June Silvey of Choctaw, OK; by two grandchildren, Lisa Kay Bradley of Norman, OK and Michael Lee Silvey of Wolfe City, TX; by two great granddaughters, Meghan Elizabeth Bradley of Norman and Emily P. Silvey of Wolfe City, TX; by other extended family and many good friends. The family has designated the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 N.E. 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104 as appropriate for memorial contributions. Viewing will be held at Shurden Funeral Home in Henryetta on Wednesday, July 4 from 5pm until 8pm; and on Thursday, July 5 from 8am until 8pm. Funeral Services for Wilma will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July 6, 2012 in the Chapel of Shurden Funeral Home in Henryetta with the Rev. Harriette Kemp officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.
