Wilma Jean Martin, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed from this life in Henryetta on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the age of 86. Wilma was born on July 30, 1926 in Kusa, Oklahoma to William Millard Williams and Vesta Pauline Kelley Williams. Wilma grew up in Dewar, attended Dewar Schools and graduated from Dewar High School. Wilma married the love of her life, Burt K. Martin on December 14, 1946 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She worked much of her adult life as a sales clerk at JC Penneys, where she retired after many years of faithful service. Wilma was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Henryetta. She was also a member of the Stitch and Time Quilters Club of Henryetta and Gideon's International. She loved to sew and especially loved time with her family. She is preceded in death by both her mother and father; by 4 sisters, Audrey Maylen, Donna June Moore, Mary Ruth Archer and Pauline Lancaster. Wilma is survived by her husband, Burt K. Martin of Henryetta; a daughter, Sue Ann Martin of Henryetta; son, Duane Martin and wife Donna of Inola, OK; by her five grandchildren, Cari Stanton of Henryetta, Ken Meyer and wife Shana of Broken Arrow, Jennifer Miller of Inola, Julie Wolfkill and husband John of Tulsa, and David Martin of Tulsa; by 6 great grandchildren; by a sister, Helen Gail Davis and husband Charlie of Paso Robles, CA; a brother, William D. "Bill" Williams and wife Louise of Dewar; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends. The family has designated International Gideons, PO Box 65,Okmulgee, OK 74447 as appropriate for memorial contributions. Viewing and visitation will be held at Integrity Funeral Service on Saturday from 8am until 8pm and on Sunday from noon until 8pm. Pallbearers will be from Gideons Okmulgee Camp and will be Rob Barris, Hugh Gaston III, Scott Robison, Kent Pharoah, Hugh Pharoah, Randy Knight, and Dick Gaden. A Funeral Service for Wilma will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00pm at Immanuel Baptist Church of Henryetta with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Morris Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
