Kathryn Caroline Fraley, age 99, passed away on May 27, 2023, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Born on February 1, 1924, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Dr. Herbert and Hanna (Reinschmidt) Henkel, she lived a faith-filled, loving, and kind life that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Kathryn was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, where she developed a strong foundation of love and faith. On August 19, 1949, she married the love of her life, Roger Franklin Fraley, at the Park Avenue Methodist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Fraley moved from Minnesota to Wichita, Kansas in 1971 due to a transfer of Roger's job and remained in Wichita until moving to Henryetta to be near their daughter. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising their two children, Bruce and Joan, with the same love and devotion that characterized their marriage.
As a dedicated teacher, Kathryn touched the lives of countless students throughout her career. Her passion for education and her ability to connect with her students left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to learn from her. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Wichita, Kansas, where she served her community and deepened her faith.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roger.
Kathryn's love for her family was evident in the strong relationships she maintained with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Bruce Fraley and his wife Kim of Wichita, Kansas; her daughter, Joan Wasson and her husband Bill of Morris, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Jennifer Pembrook and her husband Brandon of Morris, Oklahoma, Matt Wasson and his wife Megan of Preston, Oklahoma, Megan Fraley of Arlington, Virginia, and Katelyn Fraley of Wichita, Kansas; and her great-grandchildren, Ryder Burks, Hailey Burks, Cayson Burks, Reed Wasson, Austyn Wasson, and Piper Wasson. Kathryn also leaves behind a host of friends and other relatives who will cherish her memory and continue to be inspired by her unwavering faith, love, and kindness.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Integrity Chapel with Reverend San Jittawait officiating. Interment will follow the service at Morris Cemetery, Morris, Oklahoma.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Fraley, Rick Fraley, Bruce Fraley, Ryder Burks, Matt Wasson and Charles Faupel.
